Peacock Alley Media, the distribution arm of Toronto-based Peacock Alley Entertainment, is now the international distributor of Toronto-based Copperheart Entertainment’s Darknet (6 x 30 minutes). The horror series was produced for Super Channel and will premiere this year. Peacock Alley Media will launch international sales for the series at this year’s MIPTV.

Toronto-headquartered Syndicado has closed a multi-platform deal for the release of documentary Beer is Cheaper than Therapy, produced by Amsterdam-based Zeppers Film and TV. The film is being released starting this week through Google Play, Vubiquity, Dish, DailyMotion, ilovedocs, Amazon, vudu, Xbox and Samsung in the U.S., the U.K., Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

Galaxy Pop’s new animated comedy Get Ace, which follows the misadventures of a nerdy high school freshman who is accidentally fitted with high-tech braces, has been picked up for global distribution by 9 Story Enterprises. The international distribution arm of prodco 9 Story Entertainment has scored the worldwide distribution rights (excluding Australia and New Zealand) to the 52 x 11-minute series. The toon recently premiered on Network TEN’s ELEVEN in Australia.

DHX characters such as Caillou, Arthur and Johnny Test are heading to a number of new broadcasters and VOD providers across Central and Eastern Europe, as well as the Middle East, as DISCOP Istanbul gets underway this week.
Chellomedia Central Europe has renewed season one and has licensed season three of Martha Speaks for its channel Minimax broadcasting in Hungary, Romania, Czech Republic and Slovakia. While in Croatia, RTL Kockika has picked up animated trio Arthur, Johnny Test, Caillou.
Polish VOD channel Onet has also picked up Martha Speaks, Johnny Test and Sabrina’s Secret Life. Meanwhile, Arab-broadcasting network MBC Group has picked up shows including The Zack Files for its MBC3 channel. Yumurcak TV in Turkey, which will premiere Ella the Elephant this spring, has acquired the fifth season of Caillou. And in further preschool deals, Arthur has been sold to public broadcaster Irib in Iran, with In the Night Garden acquired by Prime Media in Kazakhstan.
