Four producers from B.C. and another from Alberta have been tapped for the Canadian Film Centre’s second annual GO WEST Project Lab. The week-long creative and business course — intended for filmmakers from Western Canada with a dramatic feature in the works — will this year include:
• Shirley Vercruysse of Calgary’s Burns Film, bringing the dark comedy A Teenagers Guide
• Trish Dolman from Screen Siren Pictures in Vancouver, with the coming-of-age Year of the Carnivore
• Lael McCall, head of Vancouver’s Principia Productions, with The Saltwater Decision, the story of Greenpeace colleagues Bob Hunter and Irving Stowe
• Jayme Pfahl, with the heist drama 3 a.m., from his Crescent Entertainment
• Gosia Kamela, director/producer at Vancouver’s True West Films, with the ‘extra-dimensional love story’ How to Change Everything Without Doing Anything
The GO WEST Lab starts Sunday in Whistler, BC and runs to Thursday.
