Canwest Broadcasting has named Troy Reeb as SVP of news and current affairs, effective immediately. Reeb will oversee the national slates for Global News and CH News. Also on his task list will be launching foreign bureaus for Global in London, Beijing, New Delhi and Jerusalem later this year.

In addition to his overall responsibilities, Reeb will work on launching Global’s first-ever news magazine show this fall.

Reeb, who takes over for the recently retired Steve Wyatt, joined Global News in 1999 before taking over as Global’s Washington bureau chief and White House correspondent.
