CTVglobemedia’s Space has acquired the two-hour pilot for Caprica, a spin-off of Battlestar Galactica, from the Sci-Fi Channel. Exec produced by BSG‘s Ronald Moore and written by Remi Aubuchon (24) the movie — like the series, which is partway through its fourth and final season — will be filmed in Vancouver.

The backdoor pilot will be set more than half a century before the events of BSG, and will star Eric Stoltz (My Horrible Year!), Polly Walker (Rome), Esai Morales (Jericho) and Paula Malcolmson (Deadwood). A full series has not yet been green-lit.
