Attraction Images acquires LP8 Media

Quebec-based entertainment production group Attraction Images has acquired Montreal TV production company LP8 Média.

LP8 Média president Marleen Beaulieu is replacing founding partner Josee Vallée as president of the indie producer best known for movies like Jean-Marc Vallée’s C.R.A.Z.Y and foreign TV formats like Family Harmony and Music to My Years.

Financial terms of the acquisition deal were not disclosed.

Josée Vallée launched Attraction Images with Richard Speer.

“The know-how of LP8 Média combined with the expertise of Attraction Images will allow us to create improved original content, better answer broadcasters’ needs and grow internationally,” said Speer in a statement Thursday.

“This alliance is very natural since we share so many creative values. I am excited to take over as president of a production company of this magnitude,” Beaulieu said in her own statement.

LP8 Média has TV credits that include The Parents and A Star’s Life in Lyrics.
