Cineplex is putting video games on the big screen following a deal with the makers of Xbox. The theater chain said Wednesday that, starting Aug. 15 and outside of regular movie times, it will rent out screens at some 30 of its locations for private gaming sessions — making use of wide screens and surround sound for the likes of Halo and Assassin’s Creed.
Gamers — up to 12 of them — can bring their own titles or make use of a selection available at the theater. A two-hour session will cost $179.
‘This unique experience is great for parties and events for groups of two to twelve and will make the gaming experience larger than life,’ said Cineplex spokeperson Pat Marshall in a statement.
