Goldstein joins CTV/Rogers team

Andrea Goldstein has been named director of communications for the joint CTV/Rogers Consortium for the 2010 and 2012 Olympic Games, effective immediately.

Following a seven-year stint at TSN, Goldstein will now assume responsibility of all media relations and external communications for coverage of the upcoming Vancouver 2010 and London 2012 Games. She will report to VP of marketing Adam Ashton.

Meanwhile, Greg McIsaac takes over communications for TSN, beginning Monday. He was formerly in charge of media relations for CTV news and CHUM Radio.

In other TSN news, the sportscaster has signed former NHL coach John Tortorella and hockey veteran Ray Ferraro to its NHL on TSN broadcast team for the 2008/09 season.

Tortorella, who coached the Tampa Bay Lightning to a Stanley Cup victory in 2003-04, will be a panellist for 60 games alongside studio host James Duthie, and will also appear weekly on TSN’s marquee Wednesday Night Hockey broadcasts.

Ferraro will work alongside play-by-play announcer Chris Cuthbert as a game analyst, making his debut in the broadcast booth on Oct. 14. He replaces former analyst Glenn Healy, who left TSN to join the NHL Players’ Association.

‘John is one of the boldest and most colorful personalities in hockey and Ray calls the game just like he played it — with passion and integrity,’ commented TSN VP of production Mark Milliere.

Tortorella and Ferraro join TSN as the channel begins its new six-year broadcast agreement with the NHL.
