Rogers Doc & Cable Fund doles out $3.15M

In its latest round of funding, Rogers has announced that 11 projects will share $3,158,790 in equity investment via its Rogers Documentary and Cable Network Fund.

October deadline recipients include Good Human Productions for The Bachelor Canada (airing in first window on Citytv and bio); SWB Canada Inc. for Storage Wars Canada (OLN); Talking Dead Productions for CMT’s Mom’s A Medium; ONS Productions for the Discovery Channel’s One Night Stand; Edge Of East Productions/Peep Media’s Edge Of East, broadcast on the Documentary Channel and CBC Maritimes; Wild Planet Productions for Animal Planet’s Biggest and Baddest Season 2; Lone Eagle Entertainment for Superchannel’s Truth Or Dare; Sweetgrass and Sage for Chaos & Courage Season II (APTN); Hip Hop Evolution for TMN/The Movie Channel’s Hip Hop Revolution; 0978603 B.C. Ltd. for OMNI/FX Canada, HBO Asia’s Year Of The Rat and Criollo Films Inc. for the Documentary Channel’s Blind Spot.

In 2012, the Documentary and Cable Network Funds, which provides up to 20% of production budgets, invested a combined $12 million in 58 projects. In 2013, the combined amount allotted to products has totaled $9.95 million.

The next deadline for the Rogers Documentary Fund is April 9, while the Rogers Cable Network Fund deadline falls on June 4.
