Corus Entertainment’s CMT has announced its fall 2008 programming schedule, highlighting new series that aim to reach female viewers ages 25 to 54.

Gone Country, hosted by country artist John Rich, premieres Saturday, Oct. 11 at 9 pm ET/PT, and will also air Mondays and Thursdays at 11 pm ET. Celebrities not exactly known for their C&W chops — including Bobby Brown, Julio Iglesias Jr. and Sisquo — vie for a chance to become the next big country star. Viewers can catch a sneak peek of the first episode on Thursday, Oct. 2 at 10 pm ET, following the live finale of CMT’s Chevy Karaoke Star at 8 pm ET.

Reality cheerleading competition series Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making the Team premieres on Sunday, Oct. 12 at 9 pm ET, and also airs Tuesdays at 11 pm ET and Wednesdays at 7 pm ET.

The new morning video show MyCMT Morning airs videos and country music news without interruptions (incorporating scrolls and sidebars), beginning Monday, Oct. 13 from 6 am ET to 11 am ET. In November, the segment will go interactive with CMT’s online community MyCMT at www.cmt.ca

Another new show, still in production and set to air in January, follows the rise of a female executive (played by Gemini Award-winning Phyllis Ellis) as she becomes the head of a country music TV network. The show’s working title is Going South, and it’s a CMT and Henry Less Productions original.
