Toronto-based factual entertainment producer 11 Television Canada has hired Phil Hutchins (pictured) to be its VP of production.

Hutchins will oversee all in-house productions and report to chief creative officer Kevin Healey. The appointment is effective immediately.

Prior to joining 11 Television Canada, he was VP of production at Primevista Television, where he supervised production and oversaw business affairs.  He has more than 15 years of experience as a producer in the Canadian market, and his credits include YTV’s The Next Star, Global’s Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader?  and HGTV’s Holmes on Homes.

Healey said: “Phil’s extensive experience navigating through the Canadian television production market will be an incredible asset to our team.”

11 Television Canada’s productions and formats include Panic Button, Cover Me Canada, Destination Fear and Risky Business.
