Canadians love dancing. Or so says Yahoo! Canada’s Buzz Index. The list of the most-searched television shows for the three weeks ending Sept. 26 found Dancing with the Stars and So You Think You Can Dance Canada leading among ‘top shows overall’ and ‘top new show,’ respectively. Both air on CTV.
The appearance of retro remakes such as Global’s 90210 – which placed second among new shows – and Knight Rider suggests that what’s hot among ‘new’ shows seems to be what’s ‘old.’
After her Emmy success – or perhaps her Saturday Night Live parodies of Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin – Tina Fey spiked to the top of the most-searched TV stars list, with her series 30 Rock grabbing the number-two spot of breakout shows, going from little to large numbers in Buzz Index searches.
Yahoo’s pop-culture-driven list is compiled roughly 20 times a year, around topics of accelerated interest, and aims to provide insight and commentary about top Canadian searches as measured by Yahoo! Canada Search.
