Don Carmody Television has its first project in development.
The newly launched global drama producer has secured the rights to and will produce Echoes, an original sci-fi series from the veteran VFX team and co-creators Ken Kabatoff, Andrew Karr, Mark Savela and Craig VandenBiggelaar.
And Stargate‘s Carl Binder has been tapped to showrun and write the pilot episode for the sci-fi epic.
Don Carmody, David Cormican, EVP of Don Carmody Television, Binder and the series creators will executive produce Echoes.
Set in the year 2021, Echoes follows the journey of Sonya, a young woman desperately trying to survive after two warring extra-terrestrial species intergalactic battle collides into Earth, where humans are the collateral damage caught in the crossfire of the new battlefield.
“We are delighted to put together a strong team to create this unique vision of humanity on the brink of extinction, and the small group of unlikely heroes who band together to save it,” said Binder in a statement Monday after the series was unveiled at MIPCOM, where it’s being shopped to foreign buyers.
The deal for Echoes was negotiated between Cormican and Bradley Glenn of Kaplan-Stahler Agency.
