Cogeco Cable Inc. has appointed Nathalie Dorval as VP regulatory affairs and copyright.

Dorval moves to the Montreal telecommunications co after 16 years at Astral Media, most recently as VP regulatory affairs, which included working through BCE’s bid, approved earlier this year, to acquire Astral Media for $3.4 billion.

In her new role, Dorval will represent Cogeco and its Canadian subsidiaries in regulatory affairs with the CRTC; in copyright matters; and represent the company before the Competition Bureau. She will also work with various industry committees on issues related to radio broadcasting, telecommunications and copyright.

Dorval begins her new position today, reporting directly to VP, chief legal officer and secretary, Christian Jolivet.
