TVO hires Andrew Steele as VP strategy

Andrew Steele has joined Ontario pubcaster TVO as VP strategy, a new position that will develop corporate strategy and external relations and communications.

The move follows TVO in November announcing a restructuring plan to focus on multi-screen content and the current affairs and kids niches, with the goal of generating new revenue and reducing the organization’s dependence on government grants.

“A strategic plan isn’t the endpoint, it’s the beginning. We are taking our new five-year vision and making it a reality,” said TVO CEO Lisa de Wilde in a statement.

Steele was most recently founding CEO of the Pecaut Centre for Social Impact, where he developed growth strategies for non-profits. He previously worked as a strategy consultant and senior advisor to the Premier of Ontario.
