Malcolm MacRury has again linked arms with Whizbang Films on the crime pilot Lawyers, Guns & Money. The would-be Canwest series went to camera early this month in Hamilton, ON, putting Luke Kirby front and center as a claims adjuster who works close to the city’s seamy underworld.
Ken Girotti (24, Law & Order) directed from the script co-written with MacRury.
MacRury (Deadwood, Republic of Doyle) also acts as showrunner and exec produces with Whizbang cohorts Paul Gross and Frank Siracusa, currently riding high atop the box office with Passchendaele. The three crossed paths previously on Whizbang’s ZOS: Zone of Separation.
The pilot is being billed as ‘a cross between The Office and The Sopranos.’ It also stars Caroline Cave (The L Word), Rick Roberts (ZOS) and Clark Johnson (The Wire).
