The new National Commercial Agreement has been overwhelmingly ratified by ACTRA members by 96.6%.
The terms come into effect on Monday, finally ending talks between the actors union and the Association of Canadian Advertisers and the Institute of Communication Agencies that have been underway since July.
Key elements of the NCA, which governs the production of English-language commercials in Canada with professional performers, include expanded new media opportunities and increased rates for performers.
This vote represents ‘overwhelming membership support’ for the terms of the new deal, said ACTRA chief Stephen Waddell in a statement.
