On Screen Manitoba has announced that Kelly-Anne Reiss’ Artist by Night is the winner of a $20,000 production deal with MTS Stories From Home.
The MTS Stories From Home $20,000 pitch, which took place last week during the 2013 Gimli Film Festival, saw participants live pitch their projects in three minutes to a panel of industry professionals and festival delegates at Gimli’s Aspire Theatre.
Reiss’ Artist by Night follows two men over a 24-hour period, as they try to balance family and day jobs with a passion for art.
The $20,000 licence fee will go towards producing the film for MTS Stories from Home.
Projects eligible for the competition, which was presented by On Screen Manitoba, were non-fiction and non-scripted documentary-style projects representative of Manitoba communities.
Stories From Home, formerly known as Winnipeg on Demand, features programming created by independent Manitoba producers, and available to MTS Ultimate TV customers.
