The Howie Mandel comedy Howie Do It, coproduced with NBC, is set to bow on Global Television on Friday nights at 8 p.m. starting Jan. 9.
As Canwest Broadcasting released its mid-season schedule for its main conventional channel on Thursday, it revealed that Global will also simulcast the third season of NBC’s Friday Night Lights on Fridays at 9 p.m., up against the simulcast of the Canadian cop drama Flashpoint on rival CTV and CBS.
Also, Global will debut Fox’s Lie to Me on Wednesday nights at 9 p.m. from Jan. 21. The crime drama stars Tim Roth as a human lie detector who reads faces, body language and voices to uncover clues in police investigations.
Other mid-season moves include the homegrown Project Runway Canada series migrating to Global Television on Tuesdays at 10 p.m. from Jan. 27. The fashion model competition series will also return to the Slice specialty channel on Saturdays from Jan. 31 at 9 p.m.
Also on the schedule, which is heavy on simulcasts, Global will bring back the Fox thriller 24 with a four-hour season premiere on Jan. 11 and 12 at 8 p.m. Subsequent episodes of 24 will air Mondays at 9 p.m.
Other changes include Fox’s House going to a new slot on Mondays at 8 p.m. from Jan. 19, and Fox’s Bones going to Thursday at 8 p.m. from Jan. 15. In addition, CBS’ NCIS goes to Tuesdays at 8 p.m. from Jan. 6.
Canwest will next week unveil its mid-season plans for its E! Network.
