Vancouver’s Odyssey Media has begun production in L.A. on Crimes of the Mind.

The project, with a script written by Marijke Richman, is the latest in Odyssey’s multi-picture production deal with L.A.’s Cartel Pictures.

Directed by John Murlowski and starring Christina Cox, Paula Trickey and Tina Ivlev, Crimes of the Mind is based on a true story about a mother who must fight to get her daughter back after she is brainwashed by the domineering woman who runs the remote horseback riding camp she is attending.

Producers are Kirk Shaw and Devi Singh for Odyssey, and Stan Spry and Eric Woods for Cartel.

Odyssey in May began production on Defending Santa with Dean Cain, also part of the company’s production deal with Cartel. In June, the Vancouver company also began production in Queensland, Australia on Hard Drive, starring John Cusack and Thomas Jane, and wrapped production on supernatural thriller Way of the Wicked, starring Christian Slater.
