Breakthrough takes world rights to Richie Mehta’s I’ll Follow You Down

Breakthrough Entertainment has acquired the worldwide distribution rights to Richie Mehta’s upcoming feature film I’ll Follow You Down, ahead of its world premiere at the Fantasia International Film Festival in Montreal.

Haley Joel Osment, Gillian Anderson, Rufus Sewell and Victor Garber star in the film, writer/director Mehta’s follow-up feature to his acclaimed film Amal.

I’ll Follow You Down tells the story of a physicist’s mysterious disappearance, and a discovery by his son and father that could solve the mystery and affect the courses of their lives in the past and present.

The film is produced by Lee Kim, with eOne is distributing it in Canada.

Separately, it was announced Tuesday that Mehta’s film Siddharth will receive its world bow at the Venice International Film Festival.

The film will screen as part of the festival’s Venice Days program.

Siddharth tells the story of a chain-wallah who fixes broken zippers on the street, who travels across India with few resources and no connections, searching for his missing son.

A71 Productions’ David Miller and Steven Bray, who collaborated with Mehta on Amal, are the producers of Siddharth, with Mehta’s Poor Man’s Productions.

The Venice International Film Festival runs Aug. 28 to Sept. 7, 2013.
