Phyllis Newman has joined Toronto-based Eggplant TV as VP production.

Newman will oversee EggPlant’s production and development slate, including series, pilots and digital media. She will work alongside EggPlant TV managing partner Terry Tompkins.

Newman has worked as a supervising producer on series including Love Trap, Pure Design and Party Mamas. Her producer credits also include lifestyle, factual and reality series for W Network, CosmoTV, YTV, Slice, HGTV and Bravo. She also previously worked as a talent agent and casting director.

EggPlant TV is a division of the Eggplant Collective, which develops and produces film, TV and interactive projects. The company has four divisions: EggPlant TV, EggPlant Music & Sound Design, Optix Digital Pictures and Girth Music.
