The Amazing Race Canada raced out of the starting blocks Monday evening, becoming the most-watched Canadian program since the finale of Corner Gas in 2009, according to a release from Bell Media.
According to BBM data, the Canadian version of the American format drew in a total of three million viewers, and peaked at 3.5 million viewers when the eliminated team was announced, which also makes it the most watched series premiere for a Canadian or American series since CSI: NY premiered to an audience of 3.2 million in 2004.

The Amazing Race Canada hashtag, #RaceCDA also took off on Twitter and trended during the broadcast and into Tuesday, with more than 5,600 mentions in the 24 hours surrounding the premiere.
