David Cronenberg and Sturla Gunnarsson have joined the board of directors at the Canadian Film Center.
‘We are truly privileged to welcome [Cronenberg] as an ex-officio member of the board,’ said CFC chair Roma Khanna in a statement, adding that the famed director’s ‘international stature and extensive knowledge’ of the Canadian industry will be a boon to the organization.
The Tuesday announcement also saw Gunnarsson, who is president of the Directors Guild of Canada, replace his predecessor Alan Goluboff on the 26-person board. ‘Sturla’s expertise as a filmmaker and his understanding of the larger community it serves through the DGC will be of valuable guidance to the CFC,’ said Khanna.
