Temple Street Productions has announced that it will partner with Segal Licensing to expand its tween dance drama The Next Step brand.

Segal will rep the brand in Canada, including merchandising, events and publishing rights.

The scripted drama features 13 real-life dancers at a Toronto dance studio competing to get to the championships.

The show, which debuted in March, received a second season order in April from Astral’s Family Channel.

The Next Step, produced by Temple Street Productions, is executive produced by series creator Frank van Keeken and Temple Street co-presidents and executive producers Ivan Schneeberg and David Fortier.

Segal Licensing also represents 20^th Century Fox and the Jim Henson Company and has worked with Dreamworks, Paramount and Marvel Entertainment.
