Barry Gordon’s U.S. multiplatform distribution company XLrator Media has acquired the U.S. rights to Christopher MacBride’s The Conspiracy.

The Conspiracy is Canadian director and writer MacBride’s feature debut. The plot follows two young filmmakers who make a crazed conspiracy theorist the subject of their new movie. They then become entrenched in a search that leads them to an ancient secret society after the man disappears.

The film, starring Aaron Poole and Jim Gilbert, is inspired by actual conspiracy theories, notably those about private organizations the Bohemian Club and the Bilderberg Group.

Lee Kim (I’ll Follow You Down) of Resolute Films and Entertainment is producing The Conspiracy.

The film had its world premiere at Fantastic Fest in Austin in 2012.

The deal was negotiated by XLrator Media’s Gordon and Michel Ulrich, with Nate Bolotin and Aram Tertzakian of XYZ Films for the filmmakers.
