Private Lives lands at Maple

Maple Pictures has picked up the The Private Lives of Pippa Lee, taking all rights in all media to the Robin Wright Penn drama ahead of its bow at Berlin. The picture, with Penn as a middle-aged woman reflecting on herself and her sexuality after her husband has an affair, also stars Keanu Reeves, Blake Lively, Alan Arkin, Julianne Moore and Monica Bellucci.

It is directed by Rebecca Miller, working from her novel of the same name.

‘In directing this incredible cast, she brings to life this amazing story which will resonate with both critics and audiences alike,’ said Maple co-president Laurie May in a statement. The deal was negotiated by May and IM Global CEO Stuart Ford.

The picture is an official selection at the upcoming Berlin film festival.
