After Whizbang Films and Take 5 Productions co-produced the first season of Beauty and the Beast, CBS and CW have tapped the indie duo to shoot 12 episodes of CW’s Reign in Toronto from late July.

Reign stars Megan Follows and Adelaide Kane as it tells the frothy story of a young Mary Queen of Scots.

Whizbang and Take 5 Productions are also co-producing the second season of Beauty and the Beast, which stars Kristin Kreuk.

“We’re extremely pleased with our upcoming productions, which also reflect the health and vibrancy of the film and TV industry here in Canada,” said John Weber, president and CEO of Take 5 Productions, in a statement Monday.

Take 5 is also co-producing the second season of Vikings, while Whizbang readies the next Bruce McDonald film, Hellions, for production in the fall.
