Cineflix Rights is stepping up its acquisition of third party scripted TV fare after parent Cineflix Media’s drama arm partnered on the British Buccaneer Media shingle.

London-based Cineflix Rights signed a distribution deal for the Australian drama Secrets & Lies.

The distributor will co-finance the six-part crime drama from British producer Hoodlum along with Network Ten, Screen Queensland and Screen Australia.

And Cineflix Rights will launch world sales of Secrets & Lies, which portrays an innocent man who becomes the prime suspect in the murder of a young boy, and who desperately tries to find the real killer.

Martin Henderson, Anthony Hayes, Diana Glenn and Adrienne Pickering topline the drama’s cast.

The deal has Cineflix Rights continuing to acquire scripted content to distribute alongside the drama series produced by Cineflix Studios and its joint venture partner Buccaneer Media.

The deal for Secrets & Lies was brokered by Cineflix Rights senior vice president of acquisitions Noel Hedges.
