Indie producer Brightlight Pictures has hired David Hovan as chief operating officer and Alexander Suelzle as vice president of finance.

The latest hires by chairman Shawn Williamson follow the departure of co-founder Stephen Hegyes and former vice president of business and legal affairs Karyn Edwards, both to set up their own production companies.

Williamson also recently promoted David Oland to vice president of business and legal affairs, while Kristen Bell took over as director of business and legal affairs.

Hovan has experience in film production, development and related film production services.

Suelzle brings expertise in domestic and international financing, mergers and acquisitions, business valuations, audit and taxation.

“Our new management team positions Brightlight to continue to expand in new directions.  We welcome the contributions that David and Alex will make to the company’s growth,” Williamson said in a statement.
