TV handyman Mike Holmes will write a new weekly column for Canwest’s major newspapers — expanding on the media conglom’s relationship with the plain-speaking reno expert.
Holmes, best known for HGTV’s Holmes on Homes, will launch his ‘Making It Right’ column on March 30 in the National Post plus 10 other Canwest papers. The column aims to help navigate the ins and outs of home improvements — from finding a reliable contractor to avoiding common pitfalls and costly mistakes. Holmes will also share new materials and techniques that save time and money.
Further, Canwest will air a new two-part doc, Holmes in New Orleans, on Global Television on April 7. The same special will run in six parts on HGTV. Online initiatives include a microsite on hgtv.ca launching March 23 that will stream full episodes of the special after its broadcast debut, plus exclusive videos and a blog.
