Vinay Virmani (Breakaway), Adrianne Palicki and Kunal Nayyar are headlining Dr. Cabbie, the oddball comedy being directed in Toronto by Jean-Francois Pouliot.
The indie from Montreal’s Caramel Films and Bollywood star Salman Khan’s Being Human Productions also stars Lillete Dubey, Mircea Monroe, Rizwan Manji and Chris Diamantopoulos.
Dr. Cabbie portrays a young Indian immigrant and doctor (Virmani) who becomes a local hero when he converts his taxi into a mobile clinic.
The film is set for a fall 2013 release by Entertainment One.
Telefilm Canada, SODEC and the Harold Greenberg Fund helped finance Dr. Cabbie.
Indian distributor Eros International will release the picture in India.
