Vancouver’s Brightlight Pictures has named David Oland as VP business and legal affairs.

The announcement comes as Brightlight Pictures regroups following the departure of co-founder Stephen Hegyes in November, and former VP business and legal affairs Karyn Edwards leaving in March to start her own production shingle.

Oland joined Brightlight Pictures in 2010 as director of business and legal affairs. Specializing in entertainment, contract and labour law, he previously worked at the Union of B.C. Performers.

The company also said Wednesday that Kristen Bell will take over as director of business and legal affairs.

Vancouver-based Brightlight Pictures develops, finances and produces movies and TV projects for the Canadian and world market.
