Armoza takes Little Mosque international format rights

Israel’s Armoza International Media has picked up the international format rights to CBC comedy Little Mosque, from Toronto-based indie producer WestWind Pictures.

The news comes on the heels of last week’s announcement that all six seasons of the series were picked up by new U.S. cable net Pivot.

WestWind Pictures and Armoza International will meet with potential partners at MIPTV in Cannes this week.

Little Mosque does something unique – it breaks down prejudices and fosters tolerance between cultures in a highly entertaining way. We are delighted to be a part of such a successful format – particularly as every country can certainly relate to such relevant and important issues,” said Armoza founder and CEO Avi Armoza in a statement.

Little Mosque debuted on Hulu in summer 2012, and is seen in more than 90 countries, including Turkey, Israel, Spain and Italy, and has been dubbed or translated into 25 languages.
