Hall to host writers awards

Geri Hall has found work with the Writers Guild of Canada, and will both host and co-write the labor group’s annual awards show. The guild said Monday that Hall will be front and center when its 13th annual round of awards are handed out in Toronto.

Hall will co-write her material with Kyle Tingley, a castmate from This Hour Has 22 Minutes. Hall and Tingley are both up for awards this year for their work spoofing news on the CBC series. Hall was in the news herself last month when her appearance at a press conference by Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty was shouted down by local politician Peter Kormos.

Other presenters confirmed for the April 20 celebration include Yannick Bisson of Murdoch Mysteries, Tara Spencer-Nairn from Corner Gas and Sarah Polley.
