Indie distributor Berkshire Axis Media has picked up the Canadian rights to M. Blash’s The Wait from Visit Films after a screening at SXSW.

The Wait stars Jena Malone and Chloé Sevigny as sisters with different means of coping with their mother’s death.

The deal was negotiated by Iain Taylor of BAM and Ryan Kampe of Visit Films, which produced and is selling The Wait.

The film’s cast includes Luke Grimes, Josh Hamilton, Devon Gearhart and Lana Green.

The Wait debuted at the SXSW Film Festival in Austin, Texas.
