TIFF announces date for 2013 Asian Film Summit

The Toronto International Film Festival on Tuesday announced that the Asian Film Summit will return on Sept. 10, 2013.

The Asian Film Summit was launched during last year’s TIFF, as a platform for the Asian and western film industries to foster relationships, generate new ideas and find new business opportunities.

“Last year we were honoured to have among our Asian Film Summit guests filmmakers Chen Kaige, Mira Nair and Eli Roth, film executives Harvey Weinstein, Bill Kong, Chris Dodd, Nina Lath Gupta and Stuart Ford, and global superstar Jackie Chan,” said TIFF artistic director Cameron Bailey in a statement. “We’re looking forward to welcoming another stellar lineup of key influencers and film leaders from both sides of the Pacific,” he added.

The Asian Film Summit will take place at the Shangri-La Hotel during the Toronto International Film Festival, which runs Sept. 5 to 15, 2013.
