Noreen Halpern’s Halfire Entertainment has partnered with New York-based CORE Media Group to form Halfire-CORE Entertainment.
The agreement announced Friday sees CORE funding the development and production of scripted programming for the Canadian-U.S. and International marketplaces.
The new venture follows the launch of Halfire in December. It has offices in Toronto, Ottawa and Los Angeles.
Marc Graboff, president of CORE said in a joint statement: “Halfire-CORE Entertainment is a unique way to create new scripted shows to meet the growing needs of networks in the U.S., Canada and across the world.”
Rob Lee, who has served as a consultant to CORE, was credited with introducing Halpern to CORE.
Added Halpern, added: “It’s the golden age of television, and one of the more exciting things for me is the non- traditional way of putting series together.”
CORE Media owns and/or produces numerous programs and reality formats, including American Idol and So You Think You Can Dance. It also manages numerous American Idol winners and finalists.
