The Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television is bolstering the star power of its presenter line-up, with the announcement Tuesday that Sandra Oh and Alan Thicke will present at the inaugural Canadian Screen Awards this Sunday.
Oh and Thicke join newly announced presenters Genevieve Bujold (Still Mine), Sara Canning (Primeval: New World), Kristin Kreuk (Beauty and the Beast), Kristin Lehman (Motive) and the Honourable James Moore, Minister of Canadian Heritage and official languages.
That’s in addition to previously announced presenters like Stephen Amell (Arrow), Jay Baruchel (Goon), James Cromwell (Still Mine), Allan Hawco (Doyle), Lisa Ray (Top Chef Canada) and Meg Tilly (Bomb Girls).
Besides ramping up the star power, the ACCT is also attempting to draw Canadian audiences to Sunday’s two-hour event, with its Fan Zone initiative.
The free event this Saturday is a two-hour meet-and-greet session at the Sony Centre with talent from fan favourite Canadian TV shows.
Canadian fans are also being encouraged to vote for Canada’s Screen Star, and enter to win tickets to be part of the live Canadian Screen Awards audience at the Sony Centre.
The awards, hosted by Martin Short, take place Sunday, March 3 at 8 p.m.
