Flashpoint creators tapped for Banff

The makers of primetime series including Flashpoint, HBO’s Hung and A&E’s reality Intervention are set to lead the Craft Series workshops at the upcoming Banff World Television Festival.

Flashpoint co-creators Mark Ellis and Stephanie Morgenstern are booked alongside Christine Davis, SVP of drama series development at CBS, where the series airs in simulcast with CTV.

Joining them is Dmitry Lipkin, co-creator of HBO’s new dark comedy Hung, set to premiere this summer, as well as E1 Entertainment’s Michael Rosenberg (The Riches), who exec produces the show. Intervention creator Sam Mettler will appear alongside Colleen Conway, director of nonfiction and alternative programming at A&E.

The workshops connect producers, writers, directors and broadcasters in discussions about the creative process of making TV series and the business components of putting together a financing package. Delegates will also learn about coproductions and presales, and future trends forecast for the industry.

The festival runs June 7-10.
