Raven Banner acquires Canadian rights to John Dies at the End

Raven Banner has taken the Canadian rights to the comic horror movie John Dies at the End, directed by horror auteur Don Coscarelli.

The deal with Magnet Releasing was done this week in Berlin, and follows the movie screening as part of midnight sidebars in Sundance, SXSW and Toronto.

Based on the novel by author David Wong, John Dies at the End was adapted by Coscarelli as a sci-fi movie.

John Dies at the End stars Paul Giamatti as an investigator trailing a street drug that promises an out-of-body experience. across dimensions.

But when some who return are no longer human, and it becomes apparent that a secret invasion is underway, two college dropouts are thrust in heroic roles they are unprepared for.

The horror pic also stars Clancy Brown, Rob Mayes and Chase Williamson.

Raven Banner’s Managing partners Michael Paszt and James Fler hammered out the Canadian distribution deal with Magnolia Pictures director of international sales & distribution Natsu Furuichi.

“Having played Sundance Midnight, SXSW Midnight and TIFF Midnight Madness, John Dies At The End is truly a triple crown winner of the genre world” said Paszt in a statement.

The film, which is based on a book by David Wong, was also produced by M3 Creative’s Brad Baruh, Andy Meyers and Roman Perez.
