Dore headed to the U.S.

American viewers will soon be exposed to the antics of Jon Dore following word that the Independent Film Channel has picked up seasons one and two of his interview/issue comedy.

The Toronto-shot Jon Dore Television Show, produced by John Brunton’s Insight Productions, will begin airing in August, available in more than 45 million U.S. homes. The three-year, 26-episode deal grants IFC exclusive rights to the series in cable and broadcast in the U.S.

The Jon Dore Television Show is precisely the type of alternative comedy that complements our slate perfectly, and resonates extremely well with our core base of men 18-34,’ commented IFC’s EVP and GM of television Jennifer Caserta in a release.

‘I look forward to watching Jon Dore take American audiences by storm. He’s one of the freshest, most exciting Canadian exports in years,’ added Brunton, who is executive producer.

The show is coming off a strong season on The Comedy Network, where it more than tripled its audience within the cabler’s main 18-34 demo over last year.
