Ex-Cartoon Network exec Heather Kenyon is joining Starz Animation as VP of project development and sales. Though she will be based in Burbank, CA, the new position will see Kenyon focus on generating new business for Starz Animation Toronto. She will also seek projects suitable for the studio’s sister company, Film Roman.
Kenyon joins Starz with years of animation experience under her belt, including heading up series development at Cartoon Network, managing production information at Hanna-Barbera Cartoons and serving as editor-in-chief of Animation World Network.
Her ‘infectious energy, creative expertise, and wide industry knowledge make her a perfect fit with Starz Animation’s mission to find new and interesting projects to produce at both studios,’ said David Steinberg, head of Starz Animation Toronto, in a statement.
The Toronto studio recently completed work on the Tim Burton-produced movie 9, due this fall through Focus Features.
