Rogers Media orders up three Saskatchewan TV projects

Rogers Media continues to dole out the production dollars in Saskatchewan.

In its latest round of commissioning for Citytv Saskatchewan, the broadcaster greenlit three new original local series, including a six-part doc series about Saskatoon club owners, with the working title Tequila Roadhouse.

In addition, Cheshire Smile Animation is to produce Space Stretch, an eight-part preschool series about kids becoming astronauts.

And Citytv Saskatchewan is getting behind the fourth season of plan9films’ musician showcase series The Neighbours Dog (pictured), after the former SCN licensed the first three seasons.

Tequila Roadhouse, produced by Fahrenheit Films, follows club owners Simon Papadopoulos and Bryan Pawlachuk as they try to turn their small-town club into a big-city operation.

The cameras will start rolling in January 2013, ahead of an August 2013 debut.
