Corus Entertainment’s W Network is doubling up on the hidden cam comedy for spring 2013.
The network has renewed Just for Laugh’s Television’s hidden camera game show Deal with It for a second season.
The latest 20-episode order, is double th 10-episode first season.
Deal With It follows a pair of everyday people in a public place, with one person chosen to follow a series of secret instructions given by hosts Sandy Jobin-Bevans and Martin Roach. The chosen participants win by completing the tasks, which become increasingly outlandish, as long as their companions don’t find them out.
The first season saw cash prizes handed out when successful challenges were completed, and the second season will ramp up the challenges with more extreme tasks and more scenic locations.
“Frankly, we were amazed at how far people would go, and how convincing they were. We had people walking across crowded restaurants in nothing more than a towel, dancing around in bunny costumes and convincing their loved one they had psychic powers or that they were a high-level spy. Their actions and reactions gave us the confidence that they’re ready to step things up another notch or two,” said one of the series’ exec producers Evi Regev in a statement.
Deal With It is based on the Israeli format created by Keshet Broadcasting and United Studios. It has been produced in more than 10 countries, including Finland, Denmark, Brazil, Germany and Greece.
Production on the new season is slated to begin in January.
