Imax’s 320 North American theatres grossed an estimated $12.75 million from last weekend’s Imax release of the latest Bond film Skyfall.
That equates to a per-screen average of approximately $40,000, the company stated Monday. The weekend’s box office take equated to the best non-summer opening for the Toronto-based giant screen exhibitor ever, it added.
On the international front, the Bond film grossed an estimated $2.7 million in 127 Imax theatres around the world over the weekend. After17 days of release, it has pulled in approximately $14.5 million from Imax’s overseas operations.
In sum, by the end of Sunday Imax estimated its global cumulative box office from Skyfall had hit $27.25 million.
As of the end of day Sunday, the estimated Imax global cumulative Skyfall box office was $27.25 million.
The Daniel Craig-staring films’s overall global cume stood at $518.6 million.
The film is released in Canada by Sony Pictures.
