Argo Blu-ray to include Partners in Motion’s Iran doc

Indie producers Partners in Motion (PIM) have penned a deal with Warner Home Video that sees their documentary Escape from Iran: The Hollywood Option included as a value-added special feature on the Blu-ray release of Warner Brother’s Argo.

Escape recounts the true-life political adventure tale on which Argo is based. It includes interviews with the survivors, politicians and CIA field agents who helped six Americans return to the U.S. after they sought shelter with the Canadian ambassador in Tehran during political revolution in 1979.

It was supported by History Television, Saskatchewan Film Employment Tax Credit, the Canada Media Fund, Telefilm Canada and SaskFilm.

Argo, which was directed by Ben Affleck and received its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, is currently in theatres. The Blu-ray vresion is set for release in spring 2013.

In September, PIM reported that it was moving its headquarters to B.C. from Regina as part of a joining a joint-venture called Shift Media Group.
