eOne grabs North American rights to Scatter My Ashes at Bergdorf’s

eOne announced Monday that it has acquired the North American distribution rights in all media to Matthew Miele’s documentary Scatter My Ashes at Bergdorf’s, about the famous New York-based fashion retailer that often caters to celebrity clientele and has launched the careers of many fashion designers.

The film, acquired from Berney Films, is narrated by William Fichtner.

A celebration of the store’s 111th anniversary, the story of the Fifth Avenue landmark is told by fashion icons fashion icons such as Karl Lagerfeld, Vera Wang, Marc Jacobs, Georgina Chapman, Christian Louboutin and Michael Kors, as well as celebrities, socialites, longtime employees and members of the Goodman family (which owned the store until 1972).

The doc also features store fashion director and taste maker, Linda Fargo, and follows David Hoey and the team responsible for Bergdorf’s famous window displays.

The deal was negotiated by Berney Films CEO Bob Berney, and Sejin Croninger, VP of worldwide acquisitions for eOne.

The doc is slated for theatrical release in the US and Canada in early 2013.
