eOne racks up foreign sales for Saving Hope

Entertainment One has inked international sales in territories including Latin America, Brazil and Portugal for one-hour medical drama series Saving Hope.

The series, produced by Ilana C Frank Films (ICFF) with eOne, in association with CTV, has been sold to DIRECTV in Latin America, Globosat in Brazil, Zon in Portugal, D-Smart in Turkey, La7 in Italy, Euforia TV in Romania, Domashny in Russia and Sony SET Channel in Africa, according to eOne.

Saving Hope, is at its core, a love story with a complicated twist – and what is love if not complicated?  This universal theme is obviously resonating with buyers around the world as we see broadcasters vying for the series,” said Prentiss Fraser, senior VP worldwide sales and acquisitions for eOne Television International, in a statement.

CTV gave the series, which premiered in June and aired on NBC stateside, a second season greenlight in July.

The sales news follow NBC taking the homegrown drama off its broadcast schedule, with the final two episodes of the first season airing online at NBC.com.

Saving Hope stars Erica Durance, Michael Shanks, Daniel Gillies, Huse Madhavji, Julia Taylor-Ross and Kristopher Turner.

The series is exec produced by Ilana Frank and David Wellington for ICFF, John Morayniss for eOne, and showrun by Morwyn Brebner and Aaron Martin. Malcolm MacRury and Brebner created the series; Wellington directed the pilot.
