Zoic Studios’ Orloff moves to Vancouver facility

Andrew Orloff, a co-partner and visual effects supervisor of Culver City, Calif.-based Zoic Studios, has moved his office to the company’s Vancouver facility.

“We are incredibly excited about Andrew making the move to Zoic Vancouver,” company co-founder Christopher Jones says. “Having a co-founder and executive creative director relocate to the B.C. office speaks volumes about Zoic’s commitment to our growth in Canada,” Jones says in a statement.

Zoic first established a facility in Vancouver in 2006, then moved to a new Gas Town location in 2011. More recently it expanded that location to nearly double the size and capacity.

One of Orloff’s priorities will be streamlining the high-level creative work that spans the Vancouver and Culver City offices. The company is currently working on two effects-heavy episodic shows, ABC’s Once Upon a Time and Falling Skies.

“The market in Vancouver is maturing. With much of our evolving proprietary technology being put to use in B.C., it is really the artistic future of the community there.  It’s the logical next step,” Orloff added in the statement.
