Marla Boltman appointed as CMPA general counsel

The Canadian Media Production Association (CMPA) announced Wednesday the appointment of Marla Boltman as general counsel.

Boltman has built a diverse resume in the communications sector, having previously worked with the Canada Media Fund, the Feature Film Project at the Canadian Film Centre and Alliance Atlantis Communications.

Since 2008, she has served as director of legal and business affairs at Halifax-based DHX Media. There, she oversaw the business and legal aspects of the development, production, financing distribution and exploitation of many of the prodco’s live action and animated TV series, and digital properties.

Boltman has also served as an acting member of the CMPA’s Canada Media Fund working group and its negotiating team for the WGC collective agreement negotiations.

Boltman will be based in the Toronto office starting June 8.
